BIRDING, NATURAL HISTORY, AND CONSERVATION LINKS

Blue Earth Films
Michael Male and Judy Fieth are talented filmmakers with an amazing knack for getting close-up views of some of the smallest birds (warblers, sparrows) as well as a number of the largest (long-legged waders). This web site tells you about Michael and Judy, their fabulous DVDs, and their association with Roger Tory Peterson.

Kathleen Kaska
Kathleen writes mystery novels and freelances on a variety of topics. Her book about the history of whooping crane conservation will be out soon.

The Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History
Located in Jamestown, New York, the birthplace of Roger Tory Peterson, the aim of the Institute is to promote the Peterson legacy of teaching teachers natural history subjects so that knowledge of and respect for the natural world may be imparted to young people. The Institute's staff is dedicated and passionate, and its gorgeous headquarters is also the repository of Peterson's papers and manuscripts. Through October 15, 2008, visit the Institute and enjoy an exhibit of many of his original works of art.

The Cape May Bird Observatory
Cape May is one of the best places in the world to bird. It's a prime area for migrating passerines, hawks, and pelagic birds, and is home to the Cape May Bird Observatory, which hosts field trips and educational programs just about every day of the year. Some of the United States' top people in birding and natural history are in Cape May, including Pete Dunne, Clay and Pat Sutton, and Al Nicholson, who were interviewed for Birdwatcher, plus Mark Garland, Louise Zemaitis, and many others.
